Cena and Orton updates

Two fans in attendance at last night's RAW live event in Tennessee noted that John Cena looked good in his match against CM Punk and The Miz, showing no signs of injury. Cena is back on the road with WWE for good this weekend.
For what it's worth, Randy Orton was not at last night's RAW live event.

Interesting Cena-Orton stat

Here's an interesting stat. John Cena and/or Randy Orton have been in a WWE Title or World Heavyweight Title match at every WWE pay-per-view for over two years now. The last show that didn't have either of them in a top title match was WWE's Cyber Sunday 2008 where the main events were Triple H vs. Jeff Hardy for the WWE Title and Chris Jericho vs. Batista for the World Title.

Randy Orton DVD news

WWEDVDNews reports that WWE is planning another "Best PPV Matches" DVD set for the end of 2011. WWE released "Best Pay-Per-View Matches: 2009-2010" earlier this year.

They also report that "The Randy Orton Experience" is a DVD set that's planned for September of 2011. Considering the working title, it's possible the Orton DVD will follow the same format that the new John Cena Experience DVD does.

Orton will have another DVD coming out in May of 2011 as he has a part in the WWE Studios movie "The Way I Am."

WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett arranged (WATCH)
Wade Barrett lost to WWE Champion Randy Orton at Survivor Series, fair and square – and the Englishman simply can’t bear the thought of it. Addressing the WWE Universe, Barrett posited a theory that seemed as out-there as Prince Charles’ ears: the match’s special guest referee, John Cena, had been plotting against him the entire time. Sigh.
Despite the ludicrous charge, The Nexus leader was offered a chance at redemption. Raw’s anonymous General Manager arranged a title match pitting Barrett against The Viper in the night’s main event. Satisfied, Barrett accepted and went on to explain that he will also “allow” Cena to address the WWE Universe one last time as well. Gee, what a swell bloke.

Hard to believe it’s over. After nine years, John Cena bid the WWE Universe a heartfelt farewell. The Legendarystar insisted he has no regrets for calling the WWE Title Match down the middle at Survivor Series, costing him his career. As the audience showered adulation on one of the ring’s greatest, Cena saluted from the stage for the last time. In the locker room area, the Superstar navigated a host of colleagues there to pay their respects, including Randy Orton. And as Cena exited the arena, Wade Barrett taunted him with a You-Can’t-See-Me wave of his hand.

Although Randy Orton had successfully defended his title against Wade Barrett at Survivor Series and again on Raw, The Nexus decided to make him pay with a savage beating. Then, like a shark sensing blood in the water, The Miz cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on the vulnerable Viper. Despite a valiant effort by Orton, he could no longer overcome the obstacles thrown his path and fell to Miz, who became the new WWE Champion.

Wade Barrett couldn’t possibly have thought he’d seen the last of John Cena, could he? Earlier in the evening, the Englishman waved tah-tah to the man he was responsible for having fired from WWE and prepared for his title match against WWE Champion Randy Orton.
Taking out an insurance policy, perhaps, Barrett had The Nexus ambush The Viper as he approached the ring. During their rematch, a battered Orton and the Englishman circled one another cautiously, treading carefully after the attack and the chaos of their match at Survivor Series. During the contest, Cena surprised both men, cutting through the crowd toward the ring. Upon spotting him, Barrett charged the ropes, but his nemesis already had him toppling over with an Attitude Adjustment. This allowed Orton to RKO Barrett and pin him to retain his title – for the moment.

WWE RAW results [November 15,2010]

Backstage segment with Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Aksana. Aksana thinks she sees her mother but it's Dusty Rhodes in a wig. Dusty was working with Goldust and Kelly Kelly, and they trap Aksana under a net. Goldust snatches the Million Dollar Title from her and hands it over to Ted DiBiase Sr., who walks up with IRS. Cody Rhodes comes up and interacts with his brother. The segment ends with Hacksaw, Dusty, Kelly and everyone else dancing to Dusty's American Dream music. Tatanka even made an appearance and danced around.

John Cena vs. The Miz arranged (PHOTOS)
Ushering in “old school” night, legendary announcer “Mean” Gene Okerlund introduced WWE Hall of Famer “Cowboy” Bob Orton, father of the current WWE Champion. When the senior Orton informed the WWE Universe that his son Randy will prevail at Survivor Series this Sunday, his son’s opponent, Wade Barrett, took exception. The leader of The Nexus predicted a much different outcome, one that prompted The Miz to enter the fray.
Mr. Money in the Bank reminded the WWE Universe that he can cash in his title contract at any moment, forever altering the landscape of WWE and threatening to keep John Cena in Nexus indefinitely. That threat did not sit well with Cena, who confronted Miz and challenged him to a match, hoping to ensure that he is in no condition to cash in his contract. After thinking it over, Mr. Money in the Bank finally accepted the challenge.

John Cena def. Alex Riley; WWE Champion Randy Orton and John Cena to face off during Piper’s Pit (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Agreeing to a match with John Cena seems easy enough. Actually participating in said match, well, that’s when things get a little dicey. Although he was supposed to face Cena, The Miz conveniently begged off, subbing in his apprentice Alex Riley instead. Cena had hoped to hobble The “Cleveland Screamer,” so that he would be unable to cash in his Money in the Bank contract. Instead, Cena made quick work of Riley with a crushing STF.
Afterward, WWE Champion Randy Orton sought retaliation against Miz for ambushing him the week prior. During The Viper's strike, though, Nexus members Husky Harris and Michael McGillicutty intervened, allowing Miz to scamper away. Disposing of the two “Nexi,” Orton then found himself facing Cena himself. Tensions could not be contained, and the two exchanged blows before a team of referees and trainers was able to separate the two.

Wade Barrett def. R-Truth (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Wade Barrett proved he isn’t simply a ruthless, petulant leader with a nasally English accent and greasy hair. The guy’s actually got chops. To demonstrate, Barrett faced R-Truth in singles competition and toppled the athletic Superstar. With both WWE Champion Randy Orton and John Cena looking on separately in the locker room area, the Englishman asserted himself just six days before his WWE Title Match at Survivor Series.

WWE Champion Randy Orton, John Cena and Wade Barrett clashed on “Piper’s Pit” (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Prior to “Rowdy” Roddy Piper hosting John Cena and WWE Champion Randy Orton on his talk show, “Piper’s Pit,” more than a dozen old school Superstars took a bow, including Dusty Rhodes, Million Dollar Man, IRS, Tito Santana, Iron Shiek, Nikolai Volkoff and Tatanka, among others.
When the applause finally receded, the historic lineup of Superstars allowed Piper to welcome his guests, The Viper and The Nexus’ Cena. First out was Cena, who assured his host that, as special guest referee, he would call the WWE Title Match at Survivor Series right down the middle. Upon hearing Cena’s proclamation, Wade Barrett intruded to remind the Legendary star that he will be fired from WWE if the Englishman loses or be free from The Nexus if Barrett wins, all of which means that, depending on the outcome at Survivor Series, it may well have been Cena's final appearance in WWE. Regardless of outcome, Cena, forced to wear the “N”-labeled shirt of his associates, told his overlord that he still plans on pummeling him.
The other Superstar in the volatile equation, WWE Champion Randy Orton, then factored in. The Viper mentioned to Cena that he had wanted to punt him in the skull to eliminate him from referee duties this Sunday. Instead, WWE’s Apex Predator thought it best to sink his fangs into Barrett.
Just as Orton prepared to punt Barrett’s skull, though, Nexus’ reluctant warrior Cena stopped him and was punished with an RKO. Seizing the moment, Barrett once again engaged Orton in battle, only to be felled once more. The brief exchange was just enough to enable a groggy Cena – now the focus of the champion’s punt – to recover and evade The Viper’s charging boot. The Legendary star hit Orton with an Attitude Adjustment, at which point the Englishman ordered his disciple to raise his hand in victory. Big mistake. Cena took umbrage and laid out Barrett with an Attitude Adjustment of his own, a mere six days before Survivor Series.
