WWE Money in the Bank 2010 preview-RAW Money in the Bank match

At the first-ever Money in the Bank pay-per-view, live from Kansas City, Mo., eight of Monday Night Raw’s top Superstars will risk it all for an opportunity to challenge the WWE Champion by competing in a career-defining – and threatening – Money in the Bank Ladder Match on July 18.
The rules of this unique bout are simple. Eight Superstars fight to obtain a briefcase hanging precariously over the ring. The one Superstar able to ascend a ladder and snatch the case out of the air becomes the sole owner of its coveted contents: A championship contract. The winner of this match may then “cash in” that contract and challenge the Raw champion at any point over the next 12 months.
The following Raw Superstars are scheduled to compete: Randy Orton, John Morrison, R-Truth, Evan Bourne, United States Champion The Miz, Ted DiBiase, Chris Jericho and Edge. No stranger to this type of harrowing contest, The Ultimate Opportunist became the first-ever "Mr. Money in the Bank" at WrestleMania 21 in 2005, using his contract to challenge and defeat then-WWE Champion John Cena nine months later. However, in order to duplicate that historic victory, The Ultimate Opportunist will need to overcome seven of Raw's most formidable combatants, including his rival and fellow former WWE Champion, The Viper.
With SmackDown holding its own Money in the Bank Ladder Match for the World Title that same evening, this event marks the first time two of these calamitous contests will be held in a single night. Don't miss this historic night, live on pay-per-view.

WWE Injuries

As noted earlier, in addition to injuries to Cody Rhodes, R-Truth and Kelly Kelly, Rey Mysterio (groin) and Randy Orton (neck) both sustained injuries at weekend house shows. Orton and Truth did not wrestle Sunday night, but the impression is that all injured talent will work through their injuries this week.

What Happened After RAW Last Night - The Nexus Invades

Here's a live report of what happened after Monday's WWE RAW went off the air:

WWE Champion Sheamus wrestled John Cena to a no-contest. Sheamus grabbed the mic and called out Cena, saying he won't even make it to the Money in the Bank pay-per-view.

Cena ran out to a huge pop from the crowd. Sheamus attacked Cena before bell and then went for several pin attempts.

Sheamus was in control for most of the match, not even letting Cena get his shirt off during the beatdown. Cena was on the match for nine seconds and got up just before the referee could count him out. Cena tore off his shirt and went crazy. He hit two shoulder blocks, the five knuckle shuffle and went for an Attitude Adjustment, which Sheamus blocked.

Cena was able to lock in the STF when the Nexus came out and interfered. The entire RAW locker room, including Randy Orton, The Usos, William Regal, The Miz, Vladimir Kozlov and Santino Marella, among others came out and chased off the Nexus crew. Cena's music played and he and Orton celebrated to end the show.

Randy Orton, John Morrison, R-Truth and Evan Bourne def. Chris Jericho, Edge, Ted DiBiase  and United States Champion The Miz (PHOTOS | WATCH)
WWE Superstars, take note: Snakes don’t run in packs. As if to prove the point, The Viper, Randy Orton, turned his back on his partners to make a quick strike for the Money in the Bank briefcase after their Eight-Man Tag Team Match.
Orton was teamed with John Morrison, R-Truth & Evan Bourne in a bout against Chris Jericho, Edge, Ted DiBiase & United States Champion The Miz. In a prelude to the Raw Money in the Bank Ladder Match, each of that match’s competitors fought in the tag match as arranged by Raw’s mystery GM. While each man attempted to showcase their dominance and gain a modicum of psychological advantage, it was Orton whose fangs sank deep when he leveled DiBiase with an RKO.
In the subsequent commotion, each of the competitors traded blows in an attempt to reach the Money in the Bank briefcase. It was Orton, however, who managed to slither to the top and grabbed the coveted case.

Not only Kelly Kelly...Randy Orton also?!

Our beloved couple has some pains or something...details:

Kelly Kelly, R-Truth and Cody Rhodes were apparently not the only WWE Superstars hurt on the road this weekend.
According to a source, both Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio experienced minor ailments this weekend; Orton reportedly hurt his neck, while Mysterio is dealing with a slight groin issue. Neither injury is apparently serious enough to keep the wrestlers from working through the pain.
Previously, reports came in that Kelly Kelly and Cody Rhodes suffered in-ring bang-ups that, while painful at the onset, produced no severe, lingering problems. R-Truth suffered a groin injury, and he, too, is expected to continue wrestling.

WWE Injury Updates - Kelly Kelly, Cody Rhodes, & R-Truth

Kelly Kelly was cleared to wrestle at last night's SmackDown live event in Worcester, Massachusetts, so it appears her injury from the previous night was not serious. The SmackDown! Diva's bout with Layla was prematurely concluded by the referee after she took a bad shot to either the neck or shoulder.
-- Cody Rhodes, who took a bad hit to the head at Saturday night's SmackDown! live event in Portland, Maine, is apparently fine. He worked last night's show in Worcester, losing to Kofi Kingston. It was initially feared that he had suffered a concussion, but it is now believed to not be the case.
-- To correct an earlier report, R-Truth did not suffer a knee injury at Saturday evening's RAW live event in Youngstown, Ohio, but rather a pulled groin. He is attempting to work through the injury. Like Kelly, his match came to an abrupt conclusion as a result of injury.

Report: Cody Rhodes & Kelly Kelly Injured

Indications from last night's WWE house shows are that several WWE stars could have sustained injuries:
-- During last night's SmackDown house show in Portland, Cody Rhodes apparently took a bad bump as a result of a double back suplex, courtesy of Kofi Kingston and Matt Hardy. The second generation wrestler would continue the match a few minutes later, but was assisted to the backstage area by medical personnel following its conclusion.
-- Also, Kelly Kelly reportedly suffered an injury at last night's SmackDown house show in Portland, Maine. Facing WWE Women's Champion Layla, she was injured receiving a dropkick to either the back of her shoulder or neck. The bout was prematurely concluded by the referee. The SmackDown! Diva was then assisted to the backstage area by medical personnel.

New updates regarding the injury

Kelly Kelly and R-Truth both have suffered some type of injuries during Saturday's respective WWE RAW and SmackDown house show events.

Truth suffered what is believed to be a minor injury to the face after a stiff big boot following hitting his finisher during his Triple Threat US Title Match that also included The Miz and Mark Henry. Truth was seen bleeding from the mouth when he got up after being down for a few minutes. The refs then came down and assisted him backstage.

Meanwhile, Kelly Kelly's apparent injury came during her match with Womens Champions Layla after Layla hit a dropkick to the back of the neck of Kelly. Kelly was unable to continue the match and was almost immediately taken to the back to get evaluated by trainers.

WWE RAW House show results (6/26/10) from Youngstown,Ohio

* Sheamus out to a chorus of boos. Edge out to a good pop before degrading into boos. Orton out to the second biggest pop of the night. Cena out to a huge pop consisting of women and children. Decent match with lots of the faces getting beaten down until the hot tag was made. Last minutes came when all four hit the finishers, when all of a sudden the NXTers came out and filled the cage taking out everybody! The beatdown continued until Yoshi came out to make the save, and was of course immediately overwhelmed. Then the whole lockeroom emptied and run off the NXTers. Orton restrained Micheal Tarver and threw him back into the ring. He then ate the obligatory Attitude Adjustment from Cena to end the show. All in all a good house show.

NXT vs. RAW plans

Main events announced for the July 6th SmackDown tapings in Atlanta include the NXT 1 Rookies vs. John Cena, Chris Jericho, Edge, Randy Orton, John Morrison and R-Truth, with possibly Sheamus added to the match. SmackDown's main event is scheduled to be Kane vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Jack Swagger vs. Big Show for the World Title. The top stars from RAW have been told they will be used at the tapings that night. It's possible WWE is beefing up the tapings that night because it's in Atlanta, the home of WrestleMania 27.

United States Champion The Miz interrupted Randy Orton; Edge attacked Orton (PHOTOS | WATCH)
When Randy Orton addressed the season one NXT Rookies, he vowed revenge on each of them for, as he saw it, costing him the WWE Title at Fatal 4-Way the previous night. As he lambasted the NXT seven, newly minted United States Champion The Miz cut him short.
The self-proclaimed “Awesome One” berated The Viper and told him to “get in line” for the WWE Title before leveling a sneak attack. While Orton countered Miz’s strike, Edge quickly joined the fray. The Ultimate Opportunist ran in and rammed The Apex Predator with a Spear before whispering to his rival that now, “the real fun begins.”
