Randy Orton RKO'd Drew McIntyre and Alex Riley (WATCH | PHOTOS)
When Randy Orton kicked off the night by introducing himself to the SmackDown audience, a slew of Superstars wanted their chance in the spotlight. However, The Viper quickly asserted his dominance with a pair of devastating RKOs to Drew McIntyre and Alex Riley. When Alberto Del Rio and Brodus Clay came calling, Christian rushed to Orton’s side. Before an all-out brawl, SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long arranged for the foursome to officially meet in the night’s main event.

If there was any question about what impact Randy Orton would make on SmackDown, he quickly made it known that he is a force to be reckoned with. In the night’s main event, The Viper downed big Brodus Clay to help secure a win for his team. Will Orton and Christian carry this momentum into their respective matches this Sunday at Extreme Rules? WWE Extreme Rules 2011 preview [May 1,2011]

Randy Orton vs. CM Punk (Last Man Standing Match)

In what is sure to be their most chaotic and career-changing encounter yet, bitter rivals Randy Orton and CM Punk will collide at Extreme Rules in a Last Man Standing Match.
The only way to emerge victorious in a Last Man Standing Match is to punish one’s opponent to the point where they can no longer rise to their feet in response to a referee’s 10-count. Judging by the tumultuous history between The Viper and The Second City Saint, these two competitors aim to settle the score under appropriately hazardous circumstances. With Orton and Punk separated by The Viper’s move to SmackDown in the 2011 WWE Draft, this could be their last chance to brutalize one another for quite some time.
Since there are no disqualifications in a Last Man Standing Match, Punk – backed by The New Nexus – would seem to have an advantage at Extreme Rules. However, Orton will no doubt look to capitalize on the group’s apparent instability as of late … and perhaps its waning faith in The Second City Savior.
Not one to forgive or forget, the New Nexus overlord harbored long-gestating resentment for WWE’s Apex Predator dating back to Unforgiven in 2008, when Orton punted Punk in the skull and cost The Straight Edge Superstar the World Heavyweight Championship. In 2011, Punk exacted revenge against Orton by interfering in The Viper’s WWE Title Match at Royal Rumble against defending Champion The Miz. In the weeks that followed, a seething Orton sought retribution by targeting Punk’s New Nexus underlings, punting each of them in the skull until only their leader remained.
To counter this physical threat, the calculating Punk elected to take the psychological route, stalking Orton’s wife and assaulting an off-guard Viper with a wrench just two weeks before their anticipated WrestleMania XXVII clash. Hobbled with an injured knee, Orton was unable to punt The Straight Edge Superstar as he did the rest of The New Nexus, but nevertheless sealed a decisive victory over Punk with an RKO on The Grandest Stage of Them All. (PHOTOS)
Although Orton had dealt The New Nexus a series of crippling blows – culminating with Punk’s humbling loss at The Show of Shows – the armbanded rogues recuperated, costing The Viper the No. 1 contendership to The Miz’s WWE Title during a Five-Man Gauntlet Match on the April 11 edition of Raw. With championship glory once again wrested from his grasp by The New Nexus, a determined Orton battled and defeated Punk again the following Monday night in a hard-fought WrestleMania rematch that only fanned the fires of their scorching mutual contempt.(WATCH | PHOTOS)
Will the coiled Viper sink his fangs into Punk yet again? Or will the self-aggrandizing Punk earn a tainted victory with the help of his New Nexus cronies? To find out, tune in to Extreme Rules, May 1, live on pay-per-view.

2011 WWE Draft Recap

The 2011 WWE Draft will forever be remembered as the time John Cena was sent to SmackDown — and then back to Raw in the same night. It may have been fleeting, but the sight of the Monday night mainstay clad in a blue SmackDown T-shirt was unexpected, startling and unforgettable — exactly what the WWE Universe has come to expect of the yearly shakeup.

Cena's ping-pong between brands was only one of many surprises during the two-day event. It would be hard to argue that there was a bigger Draft pick than Randy Orton this year. Returning to SmackDown for the first time since 2006, The Viper will quickly assert himself in his new surroundings. Just like the Apex Predator he is, Orton will look for the toughest guy on the brand and strike him down. (Full Draft results)

Raw may have lost a huge Superstar in Orton, but they gained one in Rey Mysterio. One of the cornerstones of SmackDown for the better part of a decade, The Master of the 619 should be a top contender to the WWE Championship — a title he has never held before. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait for the dream match between Mysterio and Sin Cara. During the Draft, the rookie high-flyer was sent to SmackDown, where he should continue to wow the WWE Universe.

Days before he faces Christian for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship in a Ladder Match at Extreme Rules, Alberto Del Rio was drafted to Raw. It’s an interesting situation, to say the least. If The Mexican Aristocrat wins the bout on Sunday, he’ll bring the title with him to Raw, meaning both the World Heavyweight and WWE Championships will be on the red brand. SmackDown is experiencing a similar state of affairs right now. With Sheamus being sent to Friday nights, the United States Championship and Wade Barrett's Intercontinental Title will both be defended on that show.

Then again, should Christian walk away with the World Heavyweight Title at Extreme Rules, there will be no shortage of new challenges for him on SmackDown. This week, heavy hitters like The Great Khali and William Regal became a part of the blue brand. Still, the most imposing force headed to Friday nights may be Mark Henry. In the main event of Monday’s Raw, The World’s Strongest Man demonstrated an unexpectedly brutal side of himself when he pummeled teammate John Cena during a Six-Man Tag Team Match. Henry's rage could be a bad sign for the SmackDown crew. When a man of his size is focused, he's nearly unstoppable.

The Texas powerhouse wasn't the only Superstar looking driven this week. Former Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston proved he was ready for Raw when he won both a Battle Royal and a bout against Sheamus on Monday night. Big Show looked just as dominant this week, and he will be a force to be reckoned with — as always — when he returns to the Raw brand.

For ring warriors like Daniel Bryan, Beth Phoenix and even a former World Heavyweight Champion like Jack Swagger, the WWE Draft presents the perfect opportunity for these talented competitors to establish themselves on a new night. For an example of how significant this can be to a career, just look at The Miz. After moving to Raw in the 2009 WWE Draft, The Awesome One went from playing second banana to John Morrison to winning the WWE Championship and performing in the main event of WrestleMania. Clearly, a single move can make a huge impact.

How will the drafted Superstars and Divas fare on their new brands? Stay tuned to WWE in the coming weeks to find out.

With a drastic change in appearance, Dolph Ziggler may be new, but he’s not improved. Not enough, anyway. As his business associate, Vickie Guerrero, looked on, Ziggler lost his match to recent SmackDown draftee Randy Orton. The Viper’s victory earned the blue brand two new draft picks: Mark Henry and Sin Cara.
After the bout, Orton’s Extreme Rules opponent, CM Punk, grabbed the spotlight and goaded WWE’s Apex Predator before their Last Man Standing Match.

WWE RAW results [April 18,2011]

Randy Orton def. CM Punk (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Who knew The Viper could play possum so well? As tensions continue to mount between Randy Orton and CM Punk, the two met head on in the night’s explosive main event. Fierce competitors, The Viper and The Second City Savior traded blows as well as momentum throughout the bout. In the end, Orton turned the tables on his preachy opponent and capitalized for the win. Unfortunately for Orton, The New Nexus crashed the victory party.
Punk’s New Nexus disciples surrounded the ring and closed ranks around their prey. After pummeling Orton and leaving him seemingly unconscious on the canvas, The New Nexus cleared a path for Mason Ryan to deliver the final nail in the coffin. The Second City Savior waved him off, though, intent on punishing Orton himself. As he steamed toward the lifeless body, however, WWE’s Apex Predator snapped to life. He leveled Punk with a shocking RKO before slithering from the ring and leaving The New Nexus stunned and scrambling for answers.

Kelly Kelly def. Layla (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Despite a tumultuous session of “couples counseling,” a noticeably annoyed Michelle McCool accompanied Layla to her single’s match. When Kelly Kelly gained the advantage over the English-born Diva outside the ring, Michelle opted to throw her war-torn partner-in-flawless back into action. This allowed Kelly Kelly to roll the disoriented beauty up for the three-count. After the match, Michelle shoved Layla to the canvas and exited alone.

Thank You Edge!

I am deeply saddened with the news of Edge (Adam Copeland in real life)'s retirement. He had worked with our lovely pair, and all I can say is those storylines will never be forgotten.

Randy Orton and Edge were better known as Rated-RKO,won numerous championships, separately and as a team.

Kelly Kelly and Edge were one of the favorite "couples" on Smackdown, with their chemistry being undeniable to the fans.

I'll be doing Edge flashbacks that has something to do with our lovely pair. ;)

THANK YOU,ADAM COPELAND!

Five-Man Gauntlet Match ended with R-Truth and John Cena in a Double Disqualification; Extreme Rules match arranged (WATCH: PART 1 | PART 2 |EXCLUSIVE | PHOTOS)
Five Superstars. One opportunity. The math added up to one grueling Five-Man Gauntlet Match as John Cena, R-Truth, John Morrison, Dolph Ziggler and Randy Orton battled for the opportunity to compete against WWEChampion The Miz at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view.
First up in the random selection, Randy Orton and Dolph Ziggler squared off. During their match, members of The New Nexus, sans CM Punk, distracted The Viper long enough for Ziggler to wrap up a pin. Afterward, the men who had each been punted in the skull by Orton, lashed his beaten frame with a vengeful ferocity.
Entering next, R-Truth showed the bleach blond bomber what was up by eliminating him in fourth place. Truth’s former tag team partner, John Morrison, then jumped into the action. Leveraging his familiarity with The Shaman of Sexy, the rapping Superstar overcame the athletic assault.
Finally, it was John Cena’s turn. The Cenation Commander-in-Chief set aside his friendship with Truth and assailed him with a barrage of heavy hits. To his credit, though, Truth held steady, unwilling to relinquish the golden opportunity before him. As the two traded blows, however, they were attacked by WWE Champion The Miz and his lackey, Alex Riley, leading to a double disqualification.
Although the WWE Champion claimed there was no No. 1 contender, the Raw General Manager had other ideas. The anonymous GM announced that there were now two No. 1 contenders for the WWE Championship and that the match at Extreme Rules would be a Triple Threat Match between WWE Champion The Miz, Truth and Cena. Afterward, The Cenation Commander-in-Chief punished Riley, Truth tackled Miz. Then the rapping Supertar and Cena found themselves in a shoving match before Truth exited the ring.

Beth Phoenix & Kelly Kelly def. Michelle McCool & Layla (WATCH | PHOTOS)
When Michelle McCool was hurled into the ropes by Beth Phoenix, her momentum knocked Layla off the apron. As a result, the English-born Diva was unable to tag in when Michelle came calling. Later, when Layla was trying to tag Michelle in, a sudden “back issue” kept the first-ever Divas Champion from relieving her partner-in-flawless, allowing Kelly Kelly to pick up the quick victory. As the dust cleared, the animosity between the members of Team Lay-Cool was noticeable.

WWE RAW results [April 4,2011]

Randy Orton & Rey Mysterio def. CM Punk & Cody Rhodes (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Their respective matches at WrestleMania were intense and astounding in their outcomes. Randy Orton staggered the 71,617 attendees when he overcame CM Punk with a mid-air RKO. For his part, Cody Rhodes shocked the crowd when he wielded Rey Mysterio’s leg brace to conquer his adversary.
Now, time for retribution. The Viper teamed with The Master of the 619 against The Second City Savior and his partner, the former “Dashing” one. Although Punk & Rhodes offered an impressive effort, their opponents proved seamless in their approach. Mysterio nailed Rhodes with a 619 and sent him into the waiting – and always treacherous – arms of Orton, who leveled him with an RKO for the win.

WWE WrestleMania 27 results [April 3,2011]

Randy Orton def. CM Punk

ATLANTA- CM Punk forgot one very important detail about Randy Orton. Even on The Grandest Stage of Them All, The Viper can unleash a devastating RKO at any time. That’s exactly what happened inside the sold-outGeorgia Dome as Orton delivered his trademark maneuver mid-air to The New Nexus leader. (PHOTOS)
As if he were a master tactician, CM Punk wisely targeted Orton’s injured knee, the same knee that The Second City Savior attacked on Raw with a wrench. With his New Nexus cohorts out of the equation, the strategy seemed nothing short of brilliant. With his ultimate goal of exacting revenge on Orton for causing him to vacate the World Heavyweight Title in 2008, CM Punk wanted nothing more than to humiliate The Viper in front of more than 70,000, including his family, at The Show of Shows.
Since The New Nexus first attacked Randy Orton, both The Viper and Punk have struggled to get inside each other’s heads, trying to gain the important psychological advantage heading into Atlanta. While Orton took out each member of The New Nexus with a punt to the head, Punk took a much more personal approach, using Orton’s tour bus and his family as bait to sadistically injure The Viper’s knee. In a true showing of his resilience, Orton - barely able to walk - confronted The Straight Edge Superstar a week later, only to be left unconscious in the middle of the ring from a GTS.
However, Randy Orton is certainly one of the most tenacious Superstars in WWE history and never backs down from a fight, especially at WrestleMania. The Viper battled through his pain and proved to the world why he is WWE’s Apex Predator. Even as The Straight Edge Superstar continued to target Orton’s knee, The Viper refused to yield.
CM Punk’s targeting of The Viper’s knee may have been enough to stop a lethal punt to the head, but as Orton has shown time after time in the squared circle, an RKO can devastate an opponent in the blink of an eye. Perhaps it was CM Punk’s overconfidence, but his seemingly ingenious strategy backfired as he attempted to take Orton down with a springboard clothesline. The Viper saw an opening, a pristine opportunity to silence his opponent and leave WrestleMania victorious.
More than 70,000 flash bulbs went off as CM Punk leapt from the top rope only to be met by a memorable RKO heard across the WWE Universe, putting The Second City Savior out for good. As Orton’s hand was raised in victory, the WWE Universe witnessed The Viper at his best, on The Grandest Stage of Them All.
